Goals & Objectives

At Calvary Chapel Christian School, students will be provided with academic preparation in all subject areas, as well as with Biblical and Christian training, in order to live out their faith and effectively communicate the gospel message, “always prepared to give an answer to anyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have,” (Peter 3:15, NIV). To clearly express our goals as an institution, we have adopted the acronym G.R.A.C.E.,  the foundation that is the basis for all of our academic and extra-curricular goals.

Our Expected Schoolwide Learning Results:

Growing Spiritually -  Individuals who have experienced the full, regenerating power of Jesus Christ and the Word of God through the work of the Holy Spirit in their lives, and who strive for the highest development of each of their God-given talents and abilities. (Ephesians 1:3-4; Colossians 2:6-7) Young men and women that understand their lives, talents, abilities, personal gifts, etc. are from the Lord, and granted according to His unconditional love and grace. (Ephesians 2:8-9, James 4:6-10) Parent-Student Handbook p. 30, (Appendix A)

  • We live in a society where “self” is prioritized over others and God. This is witnessed in the areas of media, entertainment, athletics, and other popular platforms. The Bible instructs us not to boast in material goods or earthly items, but to boast in the Lord (Psalms 20:7). The Apostle Paul encourages Christians to be meek and gentle, not having confidence in “self” or the flesh, but in God and God alone. We are not to live in a state of mind that possesses partiality toward other, but we are to be humble. If we boast, we are to do so in the LORD (2 Corinthians 10). Parent-Student Handbook p. 30, (Appendix A)
  • The Lord willing, through the efforts of both the CCCS, parents, church pastors and staff, guest pastors, and guest speakers, the Word of God will take root in the heart of each young man and woman enrolled in our school ministry.Parent-Student Handbook p. 28, (Appendix A)
  • The ministry is dedicated to the preaching and teaching of the Holy Bible, and through this the message of salvation, discipleship, spiritual growth, and a Christian lifestyle is stressed. CCCS offers a yearly Mission’s Trip to its Seniors and select students to share the gospel overseas and to provide support to the overseas organization. Parent-Student Handbook p. 28, (Appendix A)

Recreationally Driven - Young men and women who understand their identity in Christ as unique individuals created in the image of God, and are physically, emotionally and spiritually fit, practicing good health habits and wise use of the body as the temple of God. (Romans 12:1-2; 1 Corinthians 6:19-20) Parent-Student Handbook p. 29, (Appendix A)

  • CCCS offers a variety of sports for our Elementary, Middle, and High School students.  These sports include volleyball, basketball, soccer, cross country, and a Taekwondo Club.
  • In addition to our secondary P.E. classes, the elementary students also have P.E. twice a week with a member of the school’s coaching staff.
  • Health is a semester class taken by students in the 10th grade.

Academically Motivated - Individuals who demonstrate confidence in their God-given abilities, and set realistic personal and academic goals. (Romans 12:3-8).  The love of learning comes through individual’s personal learning style, likes, abilities, and calling of the Lord. In as many instances as possible, we are dedicated to the principle that students are to participate in many decisions regarding subject matter addressed and means of assessment. We believe this can be achieved without academic and/or objective compromise. Attempts are made by every teacher to cover material taking into consideration various student learning styles and make subject material applicable to real life situations. Parent-Student Handbook p. 28, (Appendix A)

Persons who carry out problem solving skills from a distinctively Christian worldview.

 (Philippians 4:6-9)

In reference to The Messiah or Christ, Isaiah 11:2 states, “The Spirit of the Lord will rest on Him, The spirit of wisdom and understanding, The spirit of counsel and strength, The spirit of knowledge and the fear of the Lord.” Concerning the area of discernment, it is ultimately achieved as a student submits himself to God and His Precious Word, the Holy Bible.

Becoming a person with godly discernment is the result of living wholeheartedly for Jesus Christ the Lord and having a heart founded upon His Word. Colossians 1:9, “For this reason also, since the day we heard of it, we have not ceased to pray for you and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding”

Secularly speaking, discernment may be defined as critical thinking as it is the process in which a person improves his quality of thinking by analysis and evaluation.  As one is submitted to God and His Word, that person’s thought process is refined and improved by God’s spirit and the wisdom, knowledge, and understanding imparted by the Holy Scriptures. Discernment and critical thinking are synonymous as they convey the same perspective.

  • CCCS provides the students with the opportunity to academically challenge themselves.  Students from grades 1-8 participate yearly in the ACSI Spelling Bee and Creative Writing contests.  They have also participated in the ACSI Math competition in the past.

Teachers meet for quarterly Focus Meetings to identity high and low achieving students.  Strategies are implemented to motivate them to succeed in school.

Community Stewards - Individuals who understand God’s influence in history and world events, and realize their need to practice responsible citizenship through community service. (1 John 3:16-18) Parent-Student Handbook, p. 29 (Appendix A)

  • CCCS provides servant opportunities throughout the year for students to be involved.  These opportunities take place within the church environment as well as in the community.
  • National Honor Society students operate and manage a variety of venture throughout the year acting as a service organization and quasi-student government group.
    • Activities and/or coordinated events:
      • Morning Baked Goods (scone) Table offered twice a week for parents and students.
